「ＳＯＮＧＳ」（ＮＨＫ総合）って番組でゴダイゴが出演されていました。
ゴダイゴっていえばやはり「西遊記Ⅰ」（昭和５３年～５４年：１９７８～７９）でのＯＰ「MONKEY MAGIC」とＥＤ「ガンダーラ（GANDHARA）」でしょうか。
番組の中でも「ザ・ベストテン」の映像が流れてましたが、「ガンダーラ（GANDHARA）」は１５週ベスト１０内にランクインして。最高位が２位という感じでヒットしてました！（その当時、アリスの「チャンピオン」が不動の１位だったため、首位に立てなかったんですよね）
またこの２曲はが特に印象深いのには、当時僕は中学生１年生だったのですが、その時の英語の先生が英語の歌を使って授業をされた方で、この２曲を使用されたんですよね。
それ故に「MONKEY MAGIC」も「ガンダーラ（GANDHARA）」も英語の歌詞でないとピンとこないし、カラオケで唄う際も英語の歌詞でって感じ！（←「ガンダーラ（GANDHARA）」の英語版はほとんどカラオケではお目にかかれないけど…）

僕はこれをきっかけに洋楽の方へ興味を持ち始めたんですよ！
さらに、メドレーで「銀河鉄道９９９」（THE GALAXY EXPRESS 999）も唄われましたが、２コーラス目を英語の歌詞で唄われていました。すごく感動です！
